REQUIREMENTS
TrainerRoad for Android supports the most popular flagship Android devices
OS: Android 7 Nougat and higher
Connection: Bluetooth Smart, ANT+ and ANT+ FE-C

NOTES
TrainerRoad for Android supports Bluetooth Smart, ANT+ and ANT+ FEC. Some devices are ANT+ compatible on their own, but may require ANT plugins installed from the Google Play store before they’re ready to use. Other devices may require an ANT+ adapter. Fortunately, some of these devices work with existing ANT+ adapters from your computer and an additional USB-C or phone-specific USB adapter.

Given the various ways TrainerRoad for Android communicates via ANT+, some devices may have stronger signals than others. If you’re having difficulty using a native ANT+ device, you may need an adapter to train normally.

I was struggling to find the right workout based on my training history, fatigue etc. Decided to try Trainerroad. I'm not big on sticking to a plan so just use the train now function. What a revalation, it works. The thing is I'm on a plan without the plan. I've scheduled a couple of events I want to ride and know that these dates are taken into account. I like the workout alternates as well - it lets me adjust for time, intensity, etc if I've got more, or less, time I can still get it right.

If you like interval training and/or need advice on appropriate power levels, training schedules, pedaling/breathing technique etc it's bang on. Can also create your own session or customize existing ones via a additional editor app for PC. Works great on smartphone or tablet too. A bit too much emphasis on riding aero for me but that can be ignored! All in all it's a great training aid for all levels of rider, more focused than Zwift but obvs less social/gamey

TrainerRoad is great. I've used it to build strength and help me lose weight, and my trip to the Alps last year was definitely better as a result. The new training calendar is an excellent addition for both tracking and motivation. Check out the podcast and the forum too - mainly way above my cycling level, but heaps of useful information. I've even started to emulate Nate's recurring illness issues...
