Awesome app to use! However, it is missing at least 1 important aspect, a major issue that keeps it from getting 5 stars... The major issue is does not have Japanese as a option for languages. Why? What if I want to immerse myself in the Japanese language and learn the specifics. What about the lesson section? It is more of a output method to approaching Japanese but helps more after the immersion (aka input method) process that the app itself lacks. Other issues is unable to turn off captions.

Like other reviewers, I think the NHK news content is really fantastic, but unfortunately the app is broken on Android. Scrolling up/down is "sticky" and difficult, and often accidentally scrolls to the right (to the Earthquake tab). It makes it difficult to actually read the articles, as trying to scroll often incorrectly moves to another tab. It's a shame, as the app is basically not usable on my phone (Pixel 4a).

An absorbing experience. +A peculiar bug. Both the TV service and the ap give an interesting and in depth portrait of Japan,(and fascinating reporting around the world) possibly a unique quality in this type of service. An odd bug is that when I exited it, it kept on playing in sound. I shut down all aps, cleared the cache etc but it would not stop till I turned off the [huawei] tablet!
